Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy (SFH)

What is “Trance”?

Trance is a state of focused attention which we go into on average every 7 minutes. Whenever you're absorbed in:

and you stop being consciously aware of some of the other things going on around you ("off in your own little world"), that's trance!

Trance is where the conscious and subconscious are coming together to focus on the same thing, and in this state we can work with the subconscious to overcome barriers to memory & learning and make positive changes fast!

Is it safe?

"You are fully in control when under hypnosis and don't have to take on the therapist's suggestions if you don't want to. If necessary, you can bring yourself out of the hypnotic state. Hypnosis doesn't work if you don't want to be hypnotised"

- NHS official statement

Is hypnosis actually real?

Yep, and because it’s so effective it’s also used instead of pain relieving drugs during surgical operations, including amputations!

Anaesthesiologists at the University of Liège in Belgium have performed over 4800 surgical interventions (mainly in ENT and thyroid treatments) over the past 10 years, and see below how hypnosurgery was used to remove a hernia (broadcast on live TV):

Hypnosurgery on a hernia

A man having a hernia removed using only hypnosis -

no pain relief drugs whatsoever.

of hypnosis and pain relief!

(Originally broadcast live on More 4 in April 2006)

It can help you with:

When you see someone on stage hilariously playing along with the hypnotists’s suggestions all you’re seeing is someone who, deep down (subconsciously), is happy to play along and be silly. (Assuming it’s a genuine case of hypnosis and not simply acting!)

A suggestion to do something against their code of morals or ethics would simply be ignored, as verified by the NHS statement above.

What does “Solution Focused” mean?

"Solution Focused" hypnotherapy combines normal hypnotherapy with Solution Focused (Brief) Therapy (SFBT), therapy where clients make progress fast by focusing on the way they want things to be and the positive changes that lead there rather than just analysing the problem, which research has shown can actually leave people in a worse state than they arrived! Focusing on our happy future shows the subconscious what we want and primes it for positivity.

SFH includes elements of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and Neuroscience for a well-researched, highly-effective and uplifting process - you’ll understand how your brain works and how to feel happy from the first session!
